The Town of Berne owns and operates a Wastewater Treatment Plant and Sanitary Collection
System in the Hamlet of Berne. There are 93 residences connected to the sanitary collection
system. Flow from these residences is conveyed to the Wastewater Treatment Plant located
behind the Berne-Knox-Westerlo Central School. After treatment, flow is discharged to the
nearby Fox Creek. The Town operates the treatment facility under SPDES Permit #NY0268976.
All questions regarding the sanitary collection system and wastewater treatment plant should
be directed to the Town Board. If you have a problem with your grinder pump, please call the
number and extension at the top of this page and someone will return your call within 24 hours.

Whether you are a homeowner or contractor, installing a mailbox post or a new garage,
